Why Black and White?

I have been asked how I decide which photos I turn black and white so why not write a post about it. As I go through my editing process and I come across a photo that has a sweet interaction between the subjects or if I think the color is distracting to the overall esthetic of the photo I change it to black and white. In doing so it takes away any “distractions” that the colors may add and then you only see the interactions or emotion of the photograph.
